The Department of World History was founded in 2011 on the basis of the former teaching and research section of the world history. Nowadays it has 14 full-time teachers and 2 external teachers. The Department has characteristic researches in specialized fields such as the History of Americas, the History of Europe, the History of Japan and the History of China`s Foreign Relationship. The Department values international communication and cooperation. It has sent young teachers and students to foreign universities such as the University of California-Irvine and the Indiana State University in USA, and the University of Central Lancashire in UK. It has invited outstanding scholars to deliver lectures and to collaborate in hosting international academic conferences such as the Teaching and Research of World History in a Globalized Time, the Globalized Historical Research: Theories, Methods and Examples, and the Latin American Civilization in the Global Perspective.
