The Department of Chinese History was founded in 2011 by combining the former teaching and research sections devoting to the ancient Chinese history and the modern Chinese history. Nowadays it has 22 teachers, all of them have doctorates, 7 are professors and 12 are associate professors, 5 are doctoral supervisors and 11 are master`s supervisors. The Department has characteristic researches in specialized fields such as the History Before the Qin Dynasty, the History of the Qin and Han Dynasties, the History of the Sui and Tang Dynasties, the History of the Song and Yuan Dynasties, the History of the Ming and Qing Dynasties, the Cultural History of Ancient China, the Social History of Ancient China, the Historical Theory and Historiography, the Social and Economic History of Modern China, the History of Though and Culture in Modern China, the Educational History of Modern China, the Social History of Contemporary China, the Regional History of North China, the History of Revolutionary Bases and Liberated Areas.
